Beast Sign Andrew D’Agostini, Jesse Stoughton, Travis Armstrong to Contracts

BRAMPTON, ONTARIO – The Brampton Beast, ECHL affiliate of the St. John’s IceCaps and Montreal Canadiens, announce today several roster moves ahead of Friday night’s game against the Elmira Jackals.

The Beast have signed former OHL standout goaltender Andrew D’Agostini to a standard player contract.

D’Agostini spent parts of the last two seasons with the University of Guelph Gryphons, where he suited up for a total of 43 games. The 2015-16 season was his best as a member of the Gryphons, as he posted a stellar 2.34 goals against average and a .923 save percentage.

He spent parts of five seasons in the Ontario Hockey League, all with the Peterborough Petes, between the 2009-10 and 2013-14 campaigns. His best year in the OHL was in 2012-13, when he appeared in 43 contests and compiled a 3.24 goals against average to accompany his .911 save percentage.

The Beast have also brought back forward Jesse Stoughton and defenseman Travis Armstrong.

Stoughton, a native of Bobcaygeon, Ontario has seen action in 10 Beast games this season, recording one assist and six penalty minutes.

Smiths Falls, Ontario’s Armstrong, 25, spent most of the season with the Louisiana IceGators, suiting up for 50 contests. He played two games with the Beast thus far this season and collected five penalty minutes.

As a result of the recent additions, goaltender Michael Giugovaz has been released from his contract and forward Angelo Miceli, along with defenseman Mac Bennett have been returned to the St. John’s IceCaps as of March 28.
