The QMJHL announced their TELUS Three Stars for the month of February today. Among them is Canadiens’ prospect and first-rounder from last year, defenseman Nathan Beaulieu.
Named the second star in the league, Beaulieu recorded a league-high fifteen assists this month, adding two goals for a total of 
17 points in 11 games, along with a +12 rating. He also added a record achievement to the mix, as on February 11th he recorded his 135th career point, moving him ahead of 2009 Pittsburgh Penguins’ first-rounder Simon Després for top spot all-time among Saint John Sea Dogs’ defensemen.
Beaulieu’s teammate Jonathan Huberdeau racked up 21 points in 10 games for February’s first-star honours. Huberdeau, selected third overall in last year’s NHL Entry Draft by the Florida Panthers, recorded four game-winning goals out of his 11 across that span, as well as a +16 rating. He only needs one more point to reach the 200-point plateau in his QMJHL career.
The third star also happens to have a familiar name: Frédérick Roy. The Quebec Remparts’ left-winger and son of former Canadiens’ goaltending great Patrick was +7 with four goals and 14 assists over the span of 10 games. Half of the games were multi-point games and he now figures fourth on the league’s top-10 scorers sheet with 83 points this season.
