St. John’s IceCaps
  • The IceCaps two back-to-back wins against Rochester and Syracuse last week were unable to save them in the rankings, and the team moves down to fifth in the North division and 18th in the league overall. The ‘Caps have 1003 penalty minutes so far this season, which puts them at second in the league for penalty minutes just behind the Syracuse Crunch with 1068. Penalties have hindered the ‘Caps in previous games, which may have an effect on this week’s match-up as well.
Players to Watch
  • Max Friberg – Captain Max Friberg has played 57 games this season with a total of 25 points.
  • Daniel Audette – Audette is the first rookie leader in the league for the shootout percentage with 75.
Notes Goaltenders

  • Lindgren 19-16 -5 | 2.67 GAA |.911 Sv%
  • Danis 10-6-3 | 2.94 GAA | .905 Sv%

Friday and Saturday March 17th, 18th

Rochester Americans
The Rochester Americans (24-34-0-2) rank at seventh in the North division and 28th in the league overall. This is the third time the two teams will meet this month, and the Amerks have been unable to defeat the ‘Caps in their two previous games. The Amerks have come up short in most of their away games this season, which may hinder them this week as well.
Players to Watch
  • Cole Schneider – Schneider is one of the top ten leaders in the league. He has 49 points in 54 games played.
  • Justin Vaive – Vaive has the most penalty minutes on the team, with 66 minutes in 49 games played.
Notes Goaltenders

  • Ullmark – 22-23-2 | 2.89 GAA | .908 Sv%
  • Muse – 2-8-0 | 3.37 GAA | .901 Sv%
