Honka named FHM Defenseman of the Month for October |

CALGARY, AB – Future Considerations Hockey today announced that Julius Honka of the Swift Current Broncos is the FC Franchise Hockey Manager draft eligible Defenseman of the Month for September. Honka has started his Western Hockey League career with a bang, recording three consecutive multi-point games. The native of Jyvaskyla, Finland had one goal and seven points in four games in September and also recorded four goals and seven points in seven tune-up games heading into the regular season. “Honka’s shown a quick adaption to the Western Hockey League, both in pre-season and through the start of regular season action,” Future Considerations’ WHL head scout Zenon Herasymiuk said. “The 17-year-old has certainly captured the attention of scouts in this young season.” Honka is 31st in Future Considerations’ October ranking for the 2014 NHL Draft. He was originally selected 34th overall by the Broncos in the 2013 CHL Import Draft, Also considered for the award this month was Alexis Vanier of the Baie-Comeau Drakkar. Vanier has already surpassed his totals from 2012-13, recording three goals and 10 points in seven games.
