Nikita Scherbak and Michael McCarron called up from Laval

MONTREAL, QC — The Canadiens announced on Sunday that forwards Michael McCarron and Nikita Scherbak have been called up from the AHL’s Laval Rocket.
Prior to Sunday’s game in Providence, RI, Scherbak was tied for the Rocket scoring lead with one goal and eight assists through six games so far this season. The Habs’ first-round pick from 2014 also boasts a plus-3 differential.
McCarron for his part has notched two goals and two assists in Laval’s first six games. He’s second among his Rocket teammates in penalty minutes with 10.
Both players were out of the lineup for Sunday’s game against the Providence Bruins.
