As seen on YouTube: Montreal Canadiens’ prospect Colin Sullivan (and not the Colin Sullivan played by Matt Damon in The Departed) in his own words, at the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.

The Specs: Born on March 26th, 1993 in Milford, Connecticut, this Habs’ 7th round, 198th overall selection will be part of Yale’s hockey program starting in the fall of 2012. Last year the 6’0″, 195-pound defenceman played for the Avon Old Farms Prep School, where he scored three goals and added 12 assists. He was also part of the squad that won the New England Prep School championship in 2010.

The Skinny: From the little that’s been seen from him thus far, he has the strength and he has the abilities, but it’s putting everything together–including the visionary skills–that seem to be his upcoming challenges.

The Stats:

Regular Season
Year Team League GP G A Pts PIM
2010-11 Avon Old Farms USHS 27 3 12 15 14

What you may not know: He’s following the same school path as a certain Christopher Higgins.

Pierre Gauthier’s take: “It’s hard to judge high school players because they don’t play a lot of games, but we feel he has an upside.” (The Gazette)

His high school coach, John Gardner, on his progress: “His skating, puck handling, passing and shooting have all improved since he’s been here, but the one thing scouts have noticed is how much stronger he’s gotten physically. That’s come from hard work in the weight room.” (Milford-Orange Bulletin)

Social Media User?: Given the amount of people who share his name and the number of them who use Twitter and have no tweets to their record, it’s difficult to know for sure.

That just about rounds up the Class of 2011 Draftees.  Know of a future Hab you’d like to see on Who’s This Guy? Let us know in the comments!
