Game Report
With Laval riding a four-game win streak, they arrived in Cleveland looking to continue that trend. With Ryan Poehling called up to Montreal, the Rocket lines were shuffled a bit. Alexandre Alain got the scoring started in the second period with a nice backhand-forehand move to beat the Monsters’ goaltender. But with about two minutes left in the period, Paul Bittner potted the equalizer, beating Cayden Primeau glove side with a one-timer from the top of the circle. In the third period, Josh Brook fired a shot at the Cleveland netminder which just managed to trickle through and put Laval up 2-1. Despite a flurry of shots by the home team in the final minutes of play, some tremendous saves by Primeau, and a late Alex Belzile slashing penalty, the Rocket managed to hold onto that lead and extend their win streak to five games. Laval stays in Cleveland to face the Monsters for another game on Saturday night.
