St. John’s IceCaps forward Bud Holloway has signed a two-year contract with CSKA Moscow of the KHL. Holloway was the IceCaps leading scorer in 2015-’16 with 19 goals, 42 assists for 61 points in 70 games. He was due to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1st.
Holloway made his NHL debut for the Montreal Canadiens against the Devils in New Jersey on November 27, 2015. He recorded one shot on goal in his 7:19 of ice-time. Holloway had signed a one-year, two-way contract ($575,000 – NHL, $175,000 – AHL) with the Habs last summer.
The 28-year-old was a third round pick, 86th overall of the Los Angeles Kings in 2006.
