BOG approves Portland sale, move to Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. … The American Hockey League’s Board of Governors today unanimously approved the transfer of ownership of the Portland AHL franchise to Springfield Hockey, LLC, and the relocation of that franchise to Springfield, Mass., beginning with the 2016-17 season.
