Do or die. Win or go home. With their season on the line, and having dropped the last two games with only one goal to show for it, the Brampton Beast needed a victory on Wednesday night to keep their Calder Cup hopes alive. With the Beast consistently out-shooting their opponents all night, and special teams kicking into high gear, David Ling put the Beast on the board first about halfway through the opening period. The power play goal assisted by Brandon Marino and Connor Crisp. Manchester responded with a goal on the man advantage in the second period, but Reggie Traccitto finally found mesh in the final frame after putting seven shots on net during the game. Traccitto’s power play goal was assisted by Jordan Henry and Luke Pither. Netminder Zach Fucale stood tall in net, especially with a monster save in the final minutes as his team was on the penalty kill and the Monarchs had pulled Sam Brittain for another extra attacker. The Beast reigned supreme in this tilt, and live to see another day. Both teams will now bus to Ontario where they will play in Brampton on Friday night for Game 6 of the series. ▲ Zach Fucale, Reggie Traccitto, Jordan Henry, Luc-Olivier Blain, Connor Crisp ▼ |
