BULLDOGS SIGN FORWARD NICK SORKIN TO PTO

MONTREAL, QUEBEC – Montreal Canadiens and Hamilton Bulldogs General Manager Marc Bergevin announced today the Bulldogs have signed forward Nick Sorkin to a professional try out contract. He is scheduled to join the Bulldogs on the road and is expected to practice with the team tomorrow in San Antonio, Texas.
Sorkin recently completed his senior season with the National Collegiate Athletic Association’s University of New Hampshire Wildcats. In 41 games with UNH, the Rockville, Maryland native recorded 41 points (20 goals, 21 assists) and 14 penalty minutes. In 142 career regular season games with UNH over four seasons from 2010 to 2014, the 6’3”, 195-pound forward recorded 98 points (34 goals, 64 assists) and 44 penalty minutes.
Before starting his collegiate career, Sorkin spent one season in the United States Hockey League. In 53 games split between the Waterloo Black Hawks and Sioux City Musketeers during the 2009-2010 season, the 22-year-old recorded 34 points (eight goals, 26 assists) and 10 penalty minutes.
Hamilton’s next game is scheduled for Friday, March 28th, when the ‘Dogs will visit the San Antonio Rampage (AHL affiliate of the Florida Panthers) at AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas at 8:30 p.m. The Bulldogs return to FirstOntario Centre on Saturday, April 12th when they will host the Rochester Americans (AHL affiliate of the Buffalo Sabres) at 7:00 p.m.
