Canadiens agree to terms on a one-year contract with defenseman Jarred Tinordi

MONTREAL – Montreal Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin announced on Wednesday that defenseman Jarred Tinordi has agreed to terms on a one-year, two way contract (2015-16).
Tinordi, 23, played 13 games with the Canadiens in 2014-15. He recorded two points (2 assists) and was assessed 19 penalty minutes. He registered 20 hits and 20 blocked shots. The Burnsville, Minnesota native also took part in 44 games with the AHL’s Hamilton Bulldogs, recording seven points (1 goal, 6 assists), and 36 penalty minutes.
Selected in the first round by the Canadiens (22nd overall) in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft, the 6’6’’, 225 lbs defenseman has played 43 career regular season games in the NHL, all with the Canadiens, tallying six points (6 assists) and 61 penalty minutes. Tinordi also played in five career NHL playoff games, collecting one assist and 15 penalty minutes.
