MONTREAL, QC–Montreal Canadiens’ prospect Philippe Lefebvre scored two goals and was awarded with the first star of the game as the Montreal Juniors won 5-2 at the expense of the visiting Cape Breton Screaming Eagles in front of a small home crowd of 1604 fans. The win was the Juniors’ eighth in a row and placed them at the top of their division, as they now hold a record of 15-3-2-1.
Lefebvre now has ten goals on the year. The Trois-Rivières native also finished with a +3 rating.
Other future members of the Habs present in this matchup were Louis Leblanc of the Juniors and Morgan Ellis of the Eagles. Both finished on the minus side, but Ellis was very present in the game as the Eagles’ captain was one of the leaders in ice-time and featured prominently in the Eagles’ six power plays.
