BULLDOGS ANNOUNCE ELEMENTS OF ENHANCED FAN EXPERIENCE FOR 2014-15 SEASON
Hamilton Bulldogs Media Release
HAMILTON, ONT. – The Hamilton Bulldogs Hockey Club announced today several elements that will contribute to an enhanced in-game fan experience for the 2014-15 season.
“Today, we’re thrilled to unveil some of the work we’ve done over the off-season to create a more engaging and electrifying in-game atmosphere for our passionate fans,” said Bulldogs president Stephen Ostaszewicz. “These improvements to our game presentation represent some of the biggest changes in the history of the Hamilton Bulldogs franchise.”
Among the changes are two staffing additions to the Bulldogs front office, as Michael Carlesimo joins the club as Sr. Manager of Game Presentation and Ryan Harding comes on board as Digital Production Coordinator.
Carlesimo comes to Hamilton after spending the previous six seasons (2008 to 2014) with the Toronto Marlies. During his time with the Marlies, the club earned American Hockey League awards for Best Overall Fan Experience (2014) and Team of the Year (2013). With the ‘Dogs, he will oversee all elements of game presentation.
Harding brings to the team a strong combination of broadcasting and video production experience. Prior to joining the Bulldogs this September, Harding had previously worked with Rogers TV and NTV in Newfoundland and Labrador in broadcast journalism as well as with the Belleville Bulls in digital production. In his role with the Bulldogs, he will produce and operate all in-game video content.
Other elements to the upgraded in-game presentation this season will include:
New high-definition video cameras, operated by Mohawk College broadcasting students through a new internship program
Smoke’s Poutinerie on the concourse
Enhanced in-arena audio with new mixer system
Additional bathrooms on event level
Additional concessions on event level
New location for Fun Zone
These additions will complement other recent game presentation advancements from previous seasons, which included the installation of the new 360-degree LED ribbon board, renovations to the FirstOntario Centre concourse and new scoreboard video screens. Laura Barney will also return for her second season as in-stands host.
The Bulldogs open the 2014-15 regular season on Saturday, Oct. 11 when they will visit the Rochester Americans at Blue Cross Arena at the War Memorial at 7:05 p.m. The puck drops for Hamilton’s home-opening weekend on Friday, Oct. 17, when the ‘Dogs host the Toronto Marlies at FirstOntario Centre at 7:30 p.m.
