GATINEAU, Monday, November 18, 2013 – A capacity crowd at Robert-Guertin Arena watched Team QMJHL open the 2013 SUBWAY Super Series with an exciting 3-2 victory led by a two-goal and one assist performance by Charles Hudon of the Chicoutimi Sagueneens.

The Montreal Canadiens prospect earned Player of the Game honours on the QMJHL’s top line that also included Tampa Bay Lightning prospect Jonathan Drouin of the Halifax Mooseheads who collected three assists, and Detroit Red Wings prospect Anthony Mantha of the Val-d’Or Foreurs who scored the game-winner and chipped in one assist.

Team QMJHL struck first on their seventh shot of the game. At 11:56 of the first period, Hudon found the back of the net with a shot from the slot with a great set-up from Drouin.

Hudon tallied again at 4:02 of the second frame. He found himself in perfect position on a another great Drouin pass.

The Russians tied the game up two at 6:06 of the third period following a tremendous individual effort by another 2014 NHL Draft prospect Vladimir Tkachyov.

Mantha, who leads the QMJHL with 24 goals, gave the lead back to the home team at 15:53 of the third period.

Mooseheads’ goalie and Candiens prospect Zachary Fucale made 19 saves in the win.
