CALGARY, AB – Future Considerations Hockey today announced that Anthony DeAngelo of the Sarnia Sting is the FC Franchise Hockey Manager draft eligible Defenseman of the Month for October.
DeAngelo was red hot in the month of October for the Sting, record four goals and 16 points in just 11 games. His best performance, a four-point outing, came at the expense of the Saginaw Spirit on October 17th.
“DeAngelo has been impressive in Sarnia this season as he continues to consistently put up the points for the Sting,” Future Considerations’ scouting director Dan Stewart said. “He has loads of jam in his game and is not afraid to stick up for himself or get his nose dirty to compliment his skills.”
DeAngelo, 25th in Future Considerations’ November ranking for the 2014 NHL Draft, now leads the Ontario Hockey League in scoring among defensemen with 26 points, eight more than Carolina Hurricanes prospect and 2012 draftee Trevor Carrick, who sits second.
Also considered for the award this month was Haydn Fleury of the Red Deer Rebels. Fleury had one goal and eight points in 10 games for the Rebels in October.
