BULLDOGS SIGN T.J. HENSICK TO ONE-YEAR CONTRACT

MONTREAL, QUEBEC – Montreal Canadiens and Hamilton Bulldogs General Manager Marc Bergevin announced today the Bulldogs have signed forward T.J. Hensick to a one-year American Hockey League contract for the 2014-2015 season.
Hensick split the 2013-2014 season between the AHL’s Hartford Wolf Pack and the Swedish Hockey League’s MODO. In 42 regular season games with Hartford, the 28-year-old recorded 34 points (11 goals, 23 assists) and no penalty minutes. In 31 regular season games with MODO, the Lansing, Michigan native registered 15 points (four goals, 11 assists) and two penalty minutes.
A veteran of seven professional seasons, Hensick has participated in four AHL All-Star Classics (2008, 2010, 2011, 2012) and was named to the AHL’s Second All-Star Team for the 2011-2012 season. In 363 career AHL regular season games with the Wolf Pack, Peoria Rivermen and Lake Erie Monsters, the 5’9”, 195-pound forward has compiled 371 points (111 goals, 260 assists) and 142 penalty minutes. In 112 career National Hockey League regular season games with the St. Louis Blues and Colorado Avalanche, he has recorded 38 points (12 goals, 26 assists) and 18 penalty minutes.
Before turning pro, Hensick played four seasons with the National Collegiate Athletic Association’s University of Michigan Wolverines. In 164 games with Michigan between 2003 and 2007, he recorded 222 points (75 goals, 147 assists) and 144 penalty minutes.
Hensick was originally selected by the Avalanche in the third round (88th overall) in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.
