Barberio Recalled to Montreal
HANLEY RETURNS TO ST. JOHN’S
St. John’s IceCaps Media Release
St. John’s, NL — This morning the Montreal Canadiens made a pair of personnel moves that – for all intents and purposes – saw the club swap defencemen with the St. John’s IceCaps.
The Canadiens recalled blueliner Mark Barberio from the IceCaps, and in turn assigned rearguard Joel Hanley to St. John’s.
In 18 games with the IceCaps this season, Barberio has collected three goals and 11 assists. Assigned to St. John’s following Montreal’s training camp, the 26-year-old played 30 games with the Habs a season ago, registering two goals and eight assists.
Hanley was recalled from St. John’s on November 2nd and suited up for five games with the Canadiens, but was held scoreless. He has a goal and four points in 10 games with the IceCaps. Hanley also had six points in 10 games with the Canadiens last season.
