Montreal Canadiens Media Release

BRAMPTON, ON. – General Manager Marc Bergevin announced today that the Montreal Canadiens have recalled goaltender Zach Fucale from the Brampton Beast of the ECHL. The recall is on an an emergency basis to back up Carey Price on Tuesday night against the Dallas Stars.

The recall comes after Al Montoya – who was supposed to start in goal against Dallas – went down with a lower-body injury during Tuesday morning’s optional morning skate at the Bell Sports Complex.

The 21-year-old netminder has appeared in 46 games with the Beast this season, posting a 25-12-4 record, 3.17 goals-against average and a .898 save percentage. He also registered four shutouts on the year.
