IceCaps Assign Miceli, Brown, Bennett to the Beast

BRAMPTON, ONTARIO – The Brampton Beast, ECHL affiliate of the St. John’s IceCaps and Montreal Canadiens, announce today that the IceCaps have reassigned forward Angelo Miceli and defencemen Travis Brown and Mac Bennett to the Brampton Beast ahead of this afternoon’s game against the Toledo Walleye.

Miceli, 21, has recorded three goals plus one assist in 28 games with the IceCaps this season. The Montreal, Quebec native also suited up for 25 games with the Beast, putting up seven goals and 12 assists.

Travis Brown rejoins the Beast after playing three games and netting one goal for the IceCaps. In his rookie season with the Beast, Brown has scored seven goals and13 assists in 51 games. Originally chosen 149th overall by the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft, the Winnipeg, Manitoba native signed a one-year, two-way American Hockey League contract with the IceCaps in August.

The IceCaps have also reassigned defenseman Mac Bennett to the Brampton Beast for the second time this season. Bennett, 24, suited up for three games with the IceCaps’ since being reassigned from the Beast on February 22.  Bennett has played three games for the Beast this season, propping up a helper of one assist.

The club has also released Travis Armstrong, Jesse Stoughton and Colin Murray from their player contracts.
