LAVAL ROCKET | Interview with Forward Alex Belzile
ROCKET SPORTS MEDIA | LAVAL, QC. — On May 24th, the Canadiens announced that they signed Alex Belzile to a one-year, two-way contract. The deal will pay Belzile $700,000 at the NHL level and $175,000 in the AHL, with $200,000 in guaranteed salary.
Belzile led the Rocket last season in goals (19), assists (35), points (54), power play goals (8), points (23 – tied with J. Evans), and shorthanded points (5).
Prior to joining the Rocket, Belzile played three seasons for the San Antonio Rampage, the St. Louis Blues’ AHL affiliate.
AHL Report interviewed Belzile this weekend to talk about his new contract, his goal for training camp, his preparation for the upcoming season, and his thoughts on some of the organization’s signings during the offseason.
