Montreal Canadiens Media Release

MONTREAL – The Canadiens have agreed to terms on a one-year, two-way contract with goaltender Charlie Lindgren for the 2017-18 season.

The 23-year-old just wrapped up his first year in the pros with the AHL’s St. John’s IceCaps.

In 48 games with the Canadiens’ AHL affiliate in 2016-17, Lindgren posted a 24-18-6 record, along with a 2.56 goals-against average and a .914 save percentage.

The Lakeville, MN native picked up one win in four playoff outings, as the IceCaps were eliminated by the Syracuse Crunch in Round 1. Lindgren allowed 10 goals during the postseason, while amassing a 2.21 goals-against average and a .922 save percentage.

He also began the season in the NHL while Carey Price was injured, backing up Al Montoya for the first game of the year.

Lindgren is still undefeated in the NHL ranks, picking up wins in both of his outings during the 2016-17 campaign, in addition to coming out on top in his NHL debut in April 2016. This season with the Canadiens, Lindgren compiled a 1.48 goals-against average and a .949 save percentage.
